The beginning was held by the Tatas, now Hyundai is bringing the latest technology car

Apart from electric, the popularity of CNG-powered vehicles is growing among the eco-friendly fuels lately. Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors have already enriched their portfolios in this regard. Hyundai India is going to follow that path. A prominent South Korean carmaker has filed a trademark for its CNG-related technology in India. According to sources, the trademarks of 'Hy-CNG' and 'Hy-CNG Duo' have been filed. It is clear from this that Hyundai is going to use dual cylinder technology to save space in its petrol-CNG bi-fuel vehicles.

Hyundai is launching a car with dual cylinder technology

Both the above names are expected to be used in the company's upcoming new CNG vehicles. Their presence can be observed at the end of the model name. Maruti Suzuki for example uses S-CNG at the end of the car name and Tata Motors uses i-CNG. It should be noted that Tata has already launched a car with dual cylinder CNG technology. Maruti Suzuki is also believed to be planning to follow this same path.

Incidentally, Hyundai currently sells three CNG powered cars in the Indian market. These are Aura compact sedan, Grand i10 Nios hatchback and Exter. The company may use the term Hy-CNG for its single cylinder version and Hy-CNG Duo for its dual cylinder models in future. Again the features and variants may change along with the new name.

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios hatchback is the smallest in the company's lineup. Again this is the cheapest model. The car is currently priced at Rs 7.68 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the Aura compact sedan starts at Rs 8.31 lakh (ex-showroom). And Hyundai Exter currently costs Rs 8.43 lakh to Rs 9.16 lakh (ex-showroom).
