Recently, almost all the companies are seen to join the rat race of bringing electric two wheelers. But in this case, Royal Enfield believes in the 'go slow' principle. The company is in no rush to launch its first electric bike. Rather now they are fully focused on bringing new motorcycles of 350 and 450 cc. According to the report, Royal Enfield may launch the first electric motorbike in the financial year 2026-27.
When will Royal Enfield launch electric bikes?
In the next two to three years, Royal Enfield's 450cc lineup will be self-contained. Besides, they will present at least one pair of 650 cc bikes in the Indian and international markets. The company has invested heavily in electric vehicle business in India and UK. The news is that Enfield is currently working on the development of two electric bike platforms.
These platforms will help Royal Enfield produce four to five electric bikes each. However, the development of this platform is currently in its early stages. So it can be said with certainty that there will be a delay in bringing the production model to the market.
Last year Royal Enfield showcased the prototype model of their Himalayan electric bike. Various reports have claimed that battery operated two-wheelers will be the company in the next few years. As a result, Royal Enfield will be able to keep the price of their e-bikes low.
