If you use PhonePe, you no longer need to enter the UPI PIN for every transaction. PhonePe has launched UPI LITE feature on its app. With the help of this feature, PhonePe users will now be able to do transactions below Rs.200 without entering their UPI PIN. UPI LITE account will make payments below Rs.200 with just a single tap. This will make the process of transaction easier.

How does the PhonePe UPI Lite feature work?

Activating this feature on the PhonePe app is simple. There is no need for KYC authentication for this. You can create UPI LITE account instantly here. However, the UPI Lite account allows users to load a maximum of Rs 2,000 and make transactions of Rs 200 or less.

In this, users can check the history of daily transactions through SMS received from their bank. This SMS will contain all the UPI Lite transactions done during the day. Also, this feature helps in simplifying bank statements and passbooks by removing low value transactions. Transactions will be fully reflected in the UPI Lite account. These will not appear in the bank statement.

How to activate UPI Lite on PhonePe app

  • To activate the UPI Lite account, open the PhonePe app.
  • Users will get the option to enable UPI LITE on the home screen of the app.
  • Thereafter selects the relevant bank account to add money to his UPI Lite account.
  • Now after entering your UPI PIN the UPI Lite account will be enabled.

Let us tell you that UPI LITE was launched in September 2022 by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). It has been developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). With its help, you will be able to make payments anywhere in India with the help of QR code. Paytm also launched this feature in February.
