To mark Xiaomi's 10th anniversary in India today, the company has launched new smartphones, earbuds, and power banks. But the biggest attraction at the event was Xiaomi's first electric car, the SU7 sedan. It has, however, been brought to India only for display purposes. The Chinese tech giant has no launch plans at the moment. 3,400 engineers and 1,000 technical specialists have developed Xiaomi's electric car. As a result, it is understood how high-tech it is.
The Xiaomi SU7 was launched as a full-size high-performance sedan. The company has developed five core EV technologies for this – E-Motor, CTB Integrated Battery, Xiaomi Die Casting, Xiaomi Pilot Autonomous Testing, and Smart Cabin. The Max variant of the car has been showcased in India.
The Xiaomi SU7 Max has a four-wheel drive system. It features dual electric motors that produce 664 hp and 838 Nm of torque combined. Battery range is 800 km. Xiaomi's electric sedan is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 265 km per hour. It can reach the speed of 0 to 100 km in just 3 seconds. As a result, the power of the car is on par with that of a sports car.
Xiaomi has a base version of the car. From which 299 PS horsepower and 400 Nm torque are available. The vehicle is capable of traveling 668 km on a full charge. Top speed is 210 km per hour. This model is priced at $30,000 in China, which is around 25 lakhs in Indian currency. Special features of the Xiaomi SU7 E-Sedan include a 16.1-inch 3K Ultra Clear center control screen and rotating dashboard. Xiaomi tablet can be added to the car and used as an additional display.
