Coming Quality of Service Rules for Telecom Companies. As a result Jio, Airtel will be in trouble if the service is bad. TRAI informed that all telecom companies will have to submit consent form by October 1. TRAI has already held a meeting with companies on August 21 to inform them about the new rules and the deadline for comments was August 27.
TRAI issued a notification on Thursday and said, “So far nothing has been communicated by the telecom companies. However, everyone has to submit the consent form by October 1. This time will not be extended. Because the deadline has already been extended once.”
Let it be known that TRAI is looking to introduce strict rules to improve 4G and 5G network services. A benchmark will be set by TRAI in this regard. Failure to meet this benchmark will result in a fine. All telecom companies have to work according to this benchmark.

TRAI has published a format in this regard. Wireless and wireline service providers are asked to submit reports through this specific format. The report has been asked to be submitted within 15 days at the end of every quarter.

Incidentally, TRAI's Quality of Service Rules will be applicable to fixed, wireless and broadband service providers. Here the quality of calldrop and telecommunication services will be specifically judged. The new rules are expected to come into effect from October 1.
