Splendor past, now Hero is going to launch four premium bikes to shake the market

Hero MotoCorp is gradually raising its sights from the commuter segment. This time the company has started planning to enter the premium motorcycle segment. A recent report claimed that Hero has currently started work on four new premium motorcycles. Which are divided into two categories – Core Premium and Upper Premium.

Hero will launch four premium motorcycles

The core premium segment includes the full-faired Karizma XMR and a naked Streetfighter. On the other hand, the upcoming launch under the upper premium segment – ​​Harley-Davidson X440 and a Streetfighter. These bikes will come with roughly 200 to 400 cc engines. Hero plans to sell their upcoming premium bikes through completely different retail stores. The number of such premium dealerships is targeted to reach 100 by next year.

Iconic names like the Hero Karizma are set to make a comeback in the country’s two-wheeler market. This time the bike will come with a new liquid cooled 210 cc engine. From which maximum power of 25 PS and torque of 20 Nm will be generated. The new generation model is named Hero Karizma XMR 210. It will have LED illumination (headlight, DRL, indicator), tall fuel tank, high-set click-on handlebar, split seat, conventional telescopic front fork, monoshock rear suspension, front and rear disc brakes with ABS.

Motorcycle HD X440, a joint venture between Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson, is being launched in India on July 3. Powering it is a 440 cc, single cylinder, air/oil cooled engine. However, the amount of power and torque produced by it is yet to be announced. Its output is expected to be higher than the rival Royal Enfield Classic 350 with 20 bhp and 27 Nm of torque. It will have a single downtube frame, USD fork and twin shock absorbers. 18/17 inch wheels will be mated to MRF tires.
