Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G launched with Adreno 642GL GPU,  Wi-fi 6 and upto 144Hz FHD+ display support


Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G has been launched with Adreno 642GL GPU, Wi-fi 6 and upto 144Hz FHD+ display support. As the previous reports suggested that it is the slightly lower version of the Snapdragon 780G. The Snapdragon 778G 5G support Snapdragon X53 5G Modem-RF System which is capable to provide peak download speed of 3.3 Gbps.

As per the Qualcomm microsite, Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G is manufactured on 6 nm process technology. It is an octa core CPU that features 1x Cortex-A78 cores @2.4 GHz, 3x Cortex-A78 cores @2.2 GHz, and 4x Cortex-A55 cores @1.9 GHz. In terms of display, The Chipset is capable to support up to 144Hz FHD+ (1600 x 3360 pixels) resolution display and External display panel upto 4K with 60Hz refresh rate.


Coming to the graphics, It coupled with Adreno 642GL GPU which is the slightly lower version of the Adreno 642GPU. It also supports LPDDR4 RAM, a maximum of 2100Mhz clock speeds with up to 16GB memory density and UFS 3.1 fast storage. Coming to the ISP options, The Snapdragon 778G 5G can support up to 64-Megapixel single camera setup, up to 36+22 Megapixel dual camera setup and  up to 22-Megapixel triple camera setup.


For connectivity, The chipset comes with Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 5, 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.2, Beidou, Galileo, GLONASS, NavIC enabled, GPS, QZSS, and USB 3.1. Additional features include Qualcomm Quick Charge 5 technology & Fingerprint, Iris, Voice, Face Biometric Authentication.


Qualcomm has not revealed yet which will be the first device could be powered by Snapdragon 778G 5G SoC but previous reports suggested that Honor’s upcoming Honor 50 series base version will be equipped with the SD 778G.


Update


It seems that Qualcomm accidentally revealed the entire specification of the Snapdragon 778G on its official website. Now, The company has pulled the SD 778G microsite from its official website which means the company might be launching the snapdragon 778G tomorrow during the virtual Conference on May 19.
