Ola Electric currently reigns supreme in the world of Indian scooters. Every now and then, the company tries to surprise the customers by announcing something new. This month they organized a new event. Ola will appear there with a bunch of announcement sticks. Out of which the company is about to announce the launch of the cheapest electric scooter Ola S1 Air. Earlier, Ola shared a post on their social media handle saying that the entry-level scooter has been tested for more than 5 lakh kilometers so far.
Ola S1 Air may launch this month
Ola believes that more than 5 lakh km of test rides will help verify quality as well as gain customer confidence. Note that the Ola S1 Air will come with a hub motor. It doesn’t have a belt drive like the S1 and S1 Pro. The 2.7kW motor in the Air variant will produce 4.5kW of power. The scooter will run on a 3 kWh battery pack. Ola claims that it will get a range of 125 kilometers on a full charge.
Ola did not reveal how long it will take to fully charge the battery. The S1 Air offers three riding modes – Eco, Normal and Sports. The scooter will reach a top speed of 85 kmph. There are some differences between the S1 and S1 Air in terms of features. The entry-level model’s feature list may be trimmed down to keep the price down. While the front has a single telescopic fork, the rear monoshock will have twin shock absorbers. Drum brakes will be provided instead of disc brakes.
Instead of the curved spine of the S1 and S1 Pro, the flat floor will be seen. Again the rear grabrail will be replaced by a common unit. In terms of design, the Ola S1 Air is largely similar to the S1 and S1 Pro. It has LED DRL, headlamp, front apron, body panel and rear tail light. The scooter can be chosen in five different color options – Coral Glam, Porcelain White, Midnight Blue and Liquid Silver.
