There is nothing new to say about the popularity of Maruti Ertiga as an MPV or multipurpose vehicle. Because the car has been roaming the roads of India for more than a decade as a family car. It is currently the best selling MPV in the country due to more space, comfort and affordable price. Maruti Suzuki has announced that this Artiger has reached the milestone of selling 10 lakh units.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga sales reach 1 million
Maruti Artga holds more than a third of the market share in the MPV car market. The company is selling over 10,000 Artigas every month on an average. Maruti has two more MPV models in its portfolio – XL6 and Invicto. Each of these models has three rows of seats.
The entry-level MPV Ertiga is also sold in a CNG version. According to Maruti Suzuki sources, the demand for Ertiga is huge in urban as well as rural areas. That’s why it managed to set this record. Currently, the vehicle has a market share of 37.5% in the MPV vehicle market.
Incidentally, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is currently priced from Tk 8.69 lakh to Tk 13.03 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in 3 trims and 11 broad variants. Automatic options are available in three models – VXi, ZXi and ZXi. The CNG model is again available in two variants. And the top-line model is – ZXi. The Artiga is powered by a 1.5-litre Dual VVT engine. Please note that the car was first launched in India in April 2012.
