In August last year, Mahindra launched their very popular SUV – Scorpio Classic in the Indian market. It is basically an updated version of Scorpio. Over the decades the car has earned a reputation as a reliable and comfortable companion on the Indian road. It does not fall short in terms of strength. Enthusiastic, the Indian Army now ordered 1,850 units of the specially designed vehicle. But this is not the first time, earlier in January 1,470 units of Scorpio Classic were delivered by the Indian Army.

Another new model of the car is Mahindra selling Scorpio-N. It is more premium version than Classic. Currently Indian Army uses vehicles like Tata Safari, Tata Nexon, Force Gurkha and Maruti Suzuki Gypsy. The addition of the green colored Scorpio Classic to that list is expected to make the Indian Army’s job easier. Mahindra can offer them this car with 4×4 powertrain. This means, it may have the older generation 2.2 liter engine. From which 140 horsepower was generated.
Talking about the performance of Scorpio Classic, the car gets 130 HP of power and 300 Nm of torque from its 2.2 liter diesel engine. Mahindra has made several changes in the engine. The new engine is 55 kg lighter. As a result, mileage will increase by 15 percent, the company said. Only shift is used to reduce vibration.
The suspension setup is newly tuned with upgrades. MTV-CL dampers are used on all four wheels to control bodyroll. Mahindra Scorpio Classic features cruise control, automatic climate control, cornering lamps, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, sunglass holder, fabric seats with diamond pattern etc.
