Huawei Nova 8 series has been announced in China. It is the successor of the Huawei Nova 7 series which was launched back in April. Huawei Nova 8 & 8 Pro runs on preinstalled EMUI 11 based on Android 10 OS and comes in colors like black, purple, green, and gradient white.

Huawei Nova 8 sports a 6.57-inches OLED FHD+ (1080 x 2340 pixel) resolution display with up to 90Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and a single punch-hole cutout on the top left corner for the selfie camera. Under the hood, The smartphone has Kirin 985 chipset, ARM Mail-G77 GPU, and paired with up to 8GB of RAM + 256GB of internal storage. Coming to the camera, Huawei Nova 8 is equipped with a 64-megapixel (primary) camera with f/1.9 aperture, an 8-megapixel (ultrawide) lens with a 120-degree field of view, a 2-megapixel macro camera with 4cm focal length, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.


On the front, there is a 32-megapixel selfie shooter with an f/2.0 aperture. It packs a 3800mAh battery and 66W SuperCharge fast charging technology. In terms of connectivity, The smartphone includes the support of dual sim, 5G, NFC, USB Type-C, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and GPS. The sensor on board includes an accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, and in-display fingerprint sensor. The device measures 160.1 x 74.1 x 7.6 mm and 169 g weights.

Huawei Nova 8 Pro features a 6.72-inches OLED FHD+ (1236 x 2676 pixels) resolution display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and a pill-shaped dual-punch-hole cutout on the top left corner. It is powered by the Kirin 985 SoC, ARM Mali-G77 GPU, and coupled with up to 8GB of RAM + 256GB internal storage. In terms of camera, Huawei Nova 8 Pro comes with the same rear camera setup as Nova 8. For Selfie, It has a 32MP primary camera and a 16MP ultra-wide lens.

The device packs a 4,000mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. Moving to the connectivity options, It includes 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS/ GLONASS / Beidou, and USB Type-C port. In terms of sensors, The smartphone houses the same sensors as Nova 8 5G. Huawei Nova 8 Pro 5G 163.3 x 74.1 x 7.9 mm and 184g weights.


Huawei Nova 8 series Price and availability


The base variant of Huawei Nova 8 5G is priced at 3,299 Yuan (around Rs.37,152) for 8GB RAM + 128GB storage whereas the high-end variant of 8GB RAM + 256GB storage costs (around Rs.41,660). Huawei Nova 8 Pro also comes in two variants, The base variant is priced at 3,999 Yuan (around Rs.45,053) for 8GB RAM + 128 GB storage while the high variant carries a price tag of 8GB RAM + 256GB storage (around Rs.49,571).


Huawei Nova 8 series is now available for pre-orders in the home market and the first sale is going to be live on Dec. 30. However, The Chinese tech company has not confirmed any information related to its international launch date.
