The demand for cars in India has grown tremendously in the last few years. Especially with the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the growth in the sales of vehicles has gradually increased. Naturally, the demand for motorcycles and scooters as a means of personal transportation has increased. As we know, rural India is the main market for low-cost two-wheelers. But demand for entry-level two-wheelers has been on a downward spiral since the rural economy was shaken due to Covid. But in the new year, the situation has improved a lot. And when the demand returned, Honda took advantage of that opportunity.
Honda’s February two-wheeler sales up 86%
Last month, Honda managed to sell 4,58,711 units of bikes and scooters. You will be surprised to hear that Honda sold 2,47,195 two-wheelers in February last year. As a result, sales increased by 86% within a year. Which is really incredible! In the previous month, Honda sold 4,13,967 models in the Indian market alone. Whereas 2,27,084 models were sold at that time in 2023.
Currently, the Japanese company has a wide range of motorcycles and scooters. Honda’s portfolio ranges from entry-level to big bikes with 1.8-litre engines. Honda has become a legendary company in the country’s two-wheeler market over the past few decades. Activa has been the best selling scooter in the country since its launch.
Incidentally, auto companies expect the demand for the two-wheeler segment to continue growing in the coming months. Experts believe that the upcoming Lok Sabha polls will fuel this demand. Many people are even keen to buy premium big models. As one of the leading companies, Honda is hoping to see more demand from buyers in this segment.
