Google Chromecast with Google TV has been announced and brings a lot of improvements as compared to the previous generation. Google TV also debuts with the new Chromecast, it is actually an upgrade over the company’s Android TV interface. Google Chromecast with Google TV comes in Sky, Snow, and Sunrise color variants.

The Chromecast with Google TV features a more elongated design as compared to the previous generation Chromecast which was circular in shape. It runs on the new Google TV platform or we can say the new Android TV platform.
The device can support 4K HDR at up to 60fps, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Vision, DTSX, HDR10+, and h.265 streams. This time the tech giant also provides a remote for the Chromecast with Google TV. The remote comes with shortcuts for YouTube and Netflix, along with a mute button, home button, back button, Google Assistant button, and a 4-way D-pad for navigation as well.
It also has the support of CEC feature which means the user can control the volume of the TV with the remote. There is no IR transmitter in the remote. User can also do a voice search by simply holding down the Google Assistant button and the universal search shows results from all major streaming services.
It has a USB Type-C power adapter on the dongle and the remote takes two AAA batteries. For connectivity options, The Chromecast with Google TV includes the support of dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac connectivity, apart from Bluetooth.
Additionally, User gets an option to save a number of streaming services to their Google account from the Chromecast with Google TV so that they can get better suggestions across Google. The Chromecast weighs 55 grams whereas the remote weighs 63 grams.
Google TV specifications
The company claimed that it has some features such as personalized For You recommendations from across different subscriptions. This update has the ability to create a Watch List through which users can add movies and shows from anywhere directly on their smartphone or laptop via Google Search.
Google also remarks YouTube TV (where available) on the new platform will provide unlimited DVR features. Moving to another Google Chromecast with Google TV feature which is Ambient Mode, It works as a digital photo frame, and can even tie in with Nest cameras and doorbells as well.
Price
The Google Chromecast with Google TV carries a price tag of $49.99 (around Rs.3,700). It is available for purchase in the USA. Moreover, the company said it will be available in other countries by the end of the year. However, Google has not confirmed its availability or pricing for India.
