The Mix Fold 3 was launched last August as the third generation model of Xiaomi’s “book-style” foldable smartphone series. But the company has yet to enter the flip-style foldable phone market, where its Chinese rival brands have already carved out a niche in the market. Xiaomi fans are eagerly waiting for the company’s first clamshell folding smartphone called Xiaomi Mix Flip. Increasing the excitement, now some important information of the phone has been leaked.
A Chinese tipster claims that the Xiaomi MIX flip phone will have a design similar to Huawei’s minimalist style. Also, the cover will feature a dual punch-hole rear camera setup for the display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Another tipster told digital chat station Xiaomi Mix Flip’s display specifications. He claims that the company will use a domestically made screen with “zero-perception creases” in this phone. And the back will have a relatively simple dual-camera setup, consisting of a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 3x telephoto lens.
Along with the Xiaomi Mix Flip, the brand is also rumored to be working on their next book-style foldable, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, which will be equipped with a flagship-grade quad camera setup with a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. The foldable will be powered by a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. and will also offer satellite communication functions.
Rival brands such as Samsung, Huawei, Oppo and Vivo have already adopted a dual-line parallel strategy of “big folding + small folding”. Xiaomi is soon going to offer users more options in the “small folding” segment with the Xiaomi Mix Flip. But the launch date is still unknown.
