When will Samsung change? The Galaxy S25's battery power has been in question ever since it came out

Samsung is currently working on their next generation Galaxy S series of flagship devices. The Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup is likely to hit the global market early next year. With several months to go before the launch, the buzz about the upcoming devices doesn't stop. Several specifications of these have been leaked. And now a report has revealed the battery capacity of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 phone, which will be the same as its predecessor. Let's find out how the handset battery segment is going to fare.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Battery Specifications (Probable)

According to a report by Galaxy Club, the Samsung Galaxy S25 phone will retain the same 4,000 mAh battery as the predecessor Samsung Galaxy S24 phone. The previous generation Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 models also have a 4,000 mAh battery, but the Galaxy S22 phone has a 3,700 mAh battery. Again this has increased to 3,900 mAh in the Samsung Galaxy S23 model and the latest Samsung Galaxy S24 finally returns to 4,000 mAh. And now it is believed that the Samsung Galaxy S25 will retain the same battery capacity.

While a 4,000 mAh battery is appropriate, it is also important to consider the growing demand for smartphone batteries. Processors are getting more powerful, displays are getting brighter, and features like higher refresh rates consume more power. The upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip is said to have high power demands, with a clock speed of 4 GHz. Samsung will use an exclusive “Made for Galaxy” version of this chip in its upcoming S series phones, which will have higher clock speeds and require more power.

So the 4,000 mAh battery may lag behind in providing enough power to run the chip optimally. On the other hand, it is also rumored that Chinese brands are opting for larger 6,000 mAh batteries for their Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 powered flagships. The latest battery details of the Samsung Galaxy S25 phone are consistent with previous reports, which indicated that there will be no improvement in battery capacity. But it also sounds like the phone's battery life could be better thanks to AI.

The phone is rumored to feature an artificial intelligence-powered battery-saving mode, which will eliminate unnecessary background processes, which essentially drain system resources to extend battery life. But keep in mind that these are just speculations right now and Samsung's final specs may differ. However, multiple reports indicate that there will be no change in battery capacity.
