Want to work for society and environment, big opportunity came, 50 lakhs prize with laptop-phone

Samsung’s ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ initiative enters its third year in India. The Foundation for Innovation and Technology (FITT), IIT Delhi, India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the United States are collaborating for the 2024 event. The Solve for Tomorrow 2024 conference highlights the innovative thinking and desire to solve problems among India’s young generation. ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ was inaugurated by JB Park, President and CEO, South East Asia, Samsung, Dr. Sandeep Chatterjee, Senior Director and Scientist ‘G’, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and Shambi Sharp, UN Resident Coordinator in India.

Track to Samsung’s ‘Solve for Tomorrow 2024’

This year Solve for Tomorrow has two distinct tracks – School Track and Youth Track Both tracks focus on different content and target distinct user groups. The theme of the school track is ‘Community and Inclusion.’ This track is for students aged 14 to 17 years It focuses on empowering disadvantaged groups through social inclusion and greater participation in healthcare So, it is a ‘Solving for India’ initiative.

On the other hand, Youth Track is a ‘Solving for the World’ initiative, with the theme ‘Environment and Sustainability.’ This track is for students aged 18-22. It aims to reduce carbon footprint, protect the environment and promote sustainability.

Who can participate in ‘Solve for Tomorrow 2024’?

The school track is open to students between the ages of 14 and 17. They can participate individually or in groups of five. And, the youth track is for 18 to 22 year olds. An individual or group can also participate in this. The application process for this initiative has already started. Interested candidates can apply at www.samsung.com/in/solvefortomorrow till 31st May, 5 PM.

What are the prizes for the winners?

School Track will award ten semi-finalists with a grant of Rs 20,000 and a Samsung Galaxy Tab for prototype development. Five finalists will receive a grant of Rs 1 lakh each, along with a Samsung Galaxy Watch. Ultimately the winner will be declared a ‘Community Champion’ and awarded Rs 25 lakh towards prototype development.

On the other hand, ten semi-finalists in the youth track will receive a grant of Rs 20,000 along with a Galaxy laptop. Five finalists will receive a grant of Rs 1 lakh and a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip smartphone. And the winner will get the title of ‘Environment Champion’ along with a grant of Rs 50 lakh for incubation at IIT Delhi.
