Samsung is currently gearing up to launch the next-generation Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 foldable smartphones in its Z-series by the end of July. It is also reported that the company will host the launch event of its upcoming foldable handsets in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. Besides, the brand is also expected to host a separate launch event in the US and Canada on August 11.
As expected, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 will offer several upgraded specifications compared to their predecessors. Again today, ahead of the upcoming launch, a report has revealed that the cover display of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will feature optimized Google applications. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will support multiple Google Apps on the cover display
Samsung’s report claims that, in addition to Samsung’s own apps, Google’s apps have also been optimized for the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s cover display. These include multiple apps like Google Maps, Google Messages and YouTube. With the new optimization, flip phone users will be able to text, watch videos and get directions without unfolding the primary display. The new Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to have a 3.4-inch display on the outside, which is much larger than the 1.9-inch screen of the predecessor Galaxy Flip 4.
Besides, both the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 phones are expected to offer a new hinge system. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor is rumored to be used in these upcoming foldable smartphones. Along with the larger cover screen, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will feature a 6.7-inch primary AMOLED display, offering FullHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device can get a maximum of 8GB of RAM and 128GB/512GB of in-built storage. In terms of software, the Samsung foldable phone will run on Android 13 based One UI 5.1.1 user interface.
For photography, the rear camera setup of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will feature a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens. And a 12 megapixel front camera will be placed in front of the foldable phone. A 3,700 mAh battery will power the Galaxy Z Flip 5. And this battery will support 25W fast charging and 10W wireless charging. Currently, the official launch date of Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 has not been revealed by Samsung. However, several reports suggest that these devices may hit the market on July 26.
