Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor may be launched on October 21. It will be Qualcomm's most powerful processor yet. It will be the successor to last year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. However, before the new processor arrives, a Weibo tipster has leaked a version of its upgraded version Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.
The Chinese tipster named The Undead said that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor will be built on the same 2+6 core architecture as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The performance core of this chipset will offer a maximum clock speed of 5 GHz. And the efficiency core can reach up to 4 GHz clock speed.
And several smartphones will be launched next year with this processor. One of which will be the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. It will compete with the iPhone 17 Pro Max. As a result, it goes without saying that Samsung's phone will beat the upcoming iPhone model in terms of performance.
Meanwhile, the tipster says that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor will be Qualcomm's first chip based on TSMC's third-generation 3nm process node. So it will give great performance.
Qualcomm is also rumored to be in talks with Samsung for their Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. Maybe there will be another version, where this processor will be based on Samsung's 2nm process node. The device in some regions is likely to use the Samsung-made Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.
