Tecno launched its first foldable phone, the Phantom V Fold, in early 2023. Back in the second half of last year, the brand released their first flip-fold phone, the Phantom V Flip. Apparently, even after more than a year has passed, the company has not announced anything about the upgraded version of Tecno Phantom V Fold. But now the Phantom V Flip 2 5G and Phantom V Flip 2 5G have appeared on the EEC certification platform, indicating the arrival of two new foldable phones from the techno soon.
Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 5G and Phantom V Flip 2 5G are EEC approved
Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 5G with model number AE10 and Tecno Phantom V Flip 2 5G with model number AE11 have appeared in the EEC certification database. Note that last year’s Phantom V Fold and V Flip had model numbers AD10 and AD11 respectively.
Although, the EEC certification indicates that the brand is working on the Phantom V Fold 2 and V Flip 2, the specifications are currently unknown. Note that the AE10 model was spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking platform in January and February this year, while the AE11 model appeared on the same platform in February. Benchmark listings revealed that both models have MediaTek Dimension 9000 Plus and Dimension 8050 chipsets respectively.
Notably, the Phantom V Fold and Phantom V Flip also have Dimensity 9000+ and Dimensity 8050 processors. As a result, the successor models are unlikely to have the same chip. So it seems that there are some discrepancies in the Geekbench listings of Phantom V Fold 2 5G and Phantom V Flip 2 5G.
