Redmi launched the first phone in its Turbo series, the Redmi Turbo 3, at a launch event yesterday. It debuted as the flagship killer in the mid-range. Redmi Turbo 3 comes with a bunch of interesting features. It has features like OLED display, 50 megapixel Sony LYT-600 primary camera, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, massive 1 terabyte storage and 90W fast charging. Redmi Turbo 3: Specifications and Features
Redmi Turbo 3 is only 7.8 mm slim and weighs 179 grams. Redmi says that the phone is SGS five-star drop protection certified. The Redmi Turbo 3 features a large 6.67-inch OLED screen surrounded by ultra-thin bezels on the front, offering 1.5K resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and 2,400 nits peak brightness. It also has an in-screen fingerprint scanner embedded in it.
For photography, the Redmi Turbo 3 has a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens on the back panel. And for selfies and video calling, there is a 20-megapixel front-facing selfie camera on the front of the phone. The smartphone has an AI-based object eraser feature similar to Google Pixel’s Magic Eraser, which can remove any unwanted elements from images.
For performance, the Redmi Turbo 3 uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, which is a toned-down version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It comes with a maximum of 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. Redmi Turbo 3 has large VC area and Xiaomi’s ice cooling system for heat dissipation during prolonged use. In terms of power backup, the smartphone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging support.
Redmi Turbo 3 runs on Android 14 OS-based HyperOS custom skin. It also offers Air Gestures, which allow users to conveniently control their devices remotely without touching the screen. This is very useful when taking selfies or when hands are wet. Also, it has multiple AI features including live subtitles, AI summarization.
Redmi Turbo 3: Price and Availability
The base 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant of the Redmi Turbo 3 has been priced at 1,999 Yuan (roughly Rs. 23,000) in the Chinese market. Besides, the higher-end 12GB RAM + 512GB storage, 16GB RAM + 512GB storage and top-end 16GB RAM + 1TB storage models are priced at 2,299 Yuan (approx. Rs. 26,500), 2,499 Yuan (approx. Rs. 29,350) and 2,799 Yuan respectively. (Rs. 32,900 approx).
Redmi Turbo 3 is available in Ice Titanium, Green Blade and Black Crystal color options. Sales in China will start from April 15. However, the company has not confirmed anything about when this new Redmi phone will come to the global market including India.
