Oppo is about to make a big change to its Reno lineup, known as its camera-focused smartphone series. There are usually at least three models in this series – a standard, a Pro model and finally the top-end Pro+ version. However, sources claim that the next generation Oppo Reno series will no longer include the Pro+ model, which means that the Reno 11 Pro+ model will not be available in the market in the coming days. But don’t despair, as the brand is planning to fill the void of the model with a new Find X6 variant.
Oppo Find X6 may launch soon with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor
A Chinese tipster claims that Oppo is going to drop the Reno Pro Plus from their upcoming Reno series. As a result, the Reno 11 series that is slated to launch next year, may not feature the Reno 11 Pro Plus. Instead, the company may add a relatively affordable model as the third model in the series. Although the tipster didn’t mention any specific reasons for Oppo’s decision, it seems that buyer interest in the Reno Pro Plus model in China has waned.
The tipster also reported that Oppo will add a new phone to its flagship Find X series. Currently, the Find X6 lineup includes the Find X6 and Find X6 Pro phones, which are powered by the Dimeensity 9200 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets, respectively. The company is now said to be working on a new version of the Find X6 series, which may come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
Note that this new model of Find X6 series will be launched in the second half of this year. But since it’s rumored to be powered by a relatively old flagship chipset from Qualcomm, the price might be lower than the other two models. Although this information has surfaced through unconfirmed sources and the company has not said anything about it yet, we will have to wait for the official announcement to know how true it is.
