Apple has launched the iPhone 16 series in global markets including India this month. At the launch event, the company claimed that the iPhone 16 Pro Max model in the series will allow up to 4 hours of additional video viewing compared to its predecessor. Again the base model of the series will last 2 hours more than before. However, tech YouTuber Mr. Whistlebs tested the battery performance of the new iPhone models and reported that the iPhone 16 series lags behind the battery performance of a premium phone from Samsung.

The YouTuber tested the batteries of iPhone 16 series and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra models. Tests showed that the Galaxy S24 model, which comes with a 5,000 mAh battery, lasted up to 12 hours and 31 minutes using various social media, YouTube and Slack apps.
There, the iPhone 16 Pro Max model gave a backup of up to 11 hours and 22 minutes. On the other hand, the iPhone 15 Pro Max lasted up to 9 hours and 35 minutes. Apart from that, the performance of the rest of the phones in the iPhone 16 lineup was almost the same.

In tests, the iPhone 16 Plus model managed to provide battery backup up to 8 hours 45 minutes and the 16 Pro model up to 8 hours 19 minutes. And the iPhone 16 lasts up to 8 hours and 19 minutes. Meanwhile, the battery of iPhone 15 has given a backup of up to 7 hours and 44 minutes. As a result, Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra was the first in this test.
