Honor quietly launched a new smartphone series in their home market. A total of two models have come under this new lineup, namely – Honor Play 50 and Honor Play 50m. Both phones offer similar configurations. They will feature a TFT LCD display with a maximum refresh rate of 90 Hz, a MediaTek processor, the latest Android 14 based custom skin, up to 256 GB of storage and a 5,200 mAh battery. Even their design is same. But surprisingly, despite no differences in design and features, the two handsets have been priced separately. Let’s know all the details about the price and specifications of the new Honor Play 50 and Play 50m smartphones.
Honor Play 50 and Play 50m smartphone specifications
The Honor Play 50 and Play 50M smartphones look exactly the same. Even both models measure 163.59×75.33×8.39 mm and weigh around 190 grams. In terms of functionality as well, the two devices will offer identical performance, as every feature like design remains the same. Both the smartphones come with a 6.56-inch waterdrop TFT LCD touchscreen, which supports a resolution of 720×1612 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz. Honor Play series uses MediaTek Dimension 6100+ processor. Again, Android 14 based MagicOS 8.0 custom skin is pre-loaded as the operating system. Both the phones will get up to 8GB of RAM and a maximum of 256GB of storage.
Talking about the camera department, the newcomer Honor Play 50 and Play 50m smartphones have a 13-megapixel primary shooter on the back and a 5-megapixel selfie camera on the front. For power backup, there will be a 5,200mAh capacity battery, which supports 10W charging speed. The company claims that this battery for normal use will keep the device running for a whole day.
Honor Play 50 and Play 50m Smartphone Price
The Honor Play 50 smartphone is priced at 1199 Yuan (roughly Rs. 13,700) for the base configuration with 6GB RAM+128GB storage. The higher 8GB RAM+256GB storage version is priced at 1399 Yuan (roughly Rs. 16,000). It comes in – Star Purple, Black Jade Green and Magic Night Black color options.
On the other hand, the price of the Honor Play 50m phone starts from 1499 Yuan (roughly Rs. 17,100). This price is for its 6GB RAM+128GB storage option. And the 8GB RAM+256GB storage variant will be priced at 1899 Yuan (roughly Rs. 21,700). It has been launched in – Magic Night Black and Sky Blue color options.
The company, despite launching the series with similar features and design, is yet to explain why there is a price difference. Besides, it is still unknown when the two devices will be released in the global market including India.
