Samsung has recently announced that it will hold its next ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event in Seoul, South Korea on July 26. The company is said to unveil several new-generation devices at the event. And recently the company confirmed with a teaser image that the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 foldable smartphones will also be launched at this tech event along with new smartwatches and tablets. Not only this, the pre-booking process has already started for these two foldable models in India.
Upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 foldable phone pre-bookings go live in India
Samsung has already made the pre-reservation page live on its official website for various categories of products under the upcoming Galaxy-series in India. From which it is known that every device launched at the ‘Seoul Unpacked’ event to be held on July 26 will also be available in India. Indians can watch the live-stream of this tech event from 26th July at 4:30 PM via Samsung’s official YouTube channel. And let us know on the appointed day – apart from the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 foldable handsets, Samsung Galaxy Tab 9 series, Galaxy Buds 3, Galaxy Watch 6 series and Galaxy SmartTag 2 are going to be launched. However, the pre-booking process has gone live for the country only for the foldable device and smartwatch models.
In this case, according to the details mentioned on Samsung’s pre-reserve page, buyers will have to pay Rs 1,999 to pre-book the above-mentioned devices. Instead, vouchers of up to Rs.5,000 and special exchange discounts will be available on purchase of products.
Possible specifications of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 smartphones
Samsung’s upcoming foldable handsets are claimed to come with multiple feature upgrades over its predecessors. For example, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 may offer a 7.6-inch Full HD Plus AMOLED primary display and a 6.2-inch Full HD Plus AMOLED external or secondary display. Both displays will support 120Hz refresh rate. In contrast, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 model will have a 6.7-inch Full HD Plus display with 120Hz refresh rate support. Again, it is also known that a smaller i.e. 3.2-inch cover display will be provided.
Both the Galaxy Z-series devices will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The phones will come with up to 12GB of RAM. However, while the ‘Fold’ model has 1 terabyte of storage, the ‘Flip’ model will only offer up to 256 GB of storage, many tech analysts have claimed. And these two foldable handsets can be powered by Android 13 based OneUI 5.1 (OneUI 5.1) custom skin.
Talking about the camera department, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 phone is expected to have a triple rear camera setup. These cameras could be – a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 10-megapixel telephoto shooter. Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 model might come with a dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel secondary lens. A 10-megapixel selfie camera is said to be located inside the punch-hole cutout on the top of the ‘Flip’ handset’s display.
Also, according to earlier reports, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 will come with an IPX8 rating for water and dust resistance. For power backup, the ‘Flip’ handset is likely to have a 3,700 mAh capacity battery. And the listing on China’s CCC or 3C certification site has confirmed that both foldable smartphones will support 25W fast charging.
