Apple is preparing to officially launch the iPhone 16 series next September. The series will include four models, with the Apple iPhone 16 Pro model expected to have slimmer bezels than the previous generation handset. The phone is even claimed to have the “world's slimmest bezel”, beating even the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. A tipster has now revealed the measurements of the Apple iPhone 16 Pro and Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max models, indicating that the phones will be larger. Narrow bezels will help Apple offer a larger screen experience without greatly increasing the phone's overall size.
Design of Apple iPhone 16 Pro and Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max models
Chinese tipster Instant Digital claims that the Apple iPhone 16 Pro phone will measure 149.6 x 71.45 x 8.25 mm and weigh 194 grams. In comparison, last year's iPhone iPhone 15 Pro measures 146.6 x 70.6 x 8.25 mm and weighs 187 grams.
On the other hand, the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max model will measure 163.02 x 77.58 x 8.26 millimeters. And last year's iPhone 15 Pro Max model measures 159.9 x 76.7 x 8.25 millimeters. The upcoming model will be slightly heavier with a weight of 225 grams compared to the predecessor's 221 grams. Leaked measurements indicate that the iPhone 16 Pro variants will be slightly taller, heavier and wider, but the screen bezels will become slimmer. The claim was also made by tipster Ice Universe on the X (ex-Twitter) handle.
According to recent reports, the iPhone 16 Pro will have 1.2mm bezels, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have 1.15mm bezels. This will be a noticeable change from the iPhone 15 Pro's 1.71mm thick bezels. The Pro models could surpass the Samsung Galaxy S24 to become the “world's narrowest bezel mobile phone”. These ultra slim bezels will help Apple increase the screen size of upcoming models. Moreover, reducing the size of the bezel will create more space for content along with a premium look.
Apple iPhone 16 Pro: Specifications (Possible)
The iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.3-inch screen, which is larger than its predecessor's 6.1-inch display. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will come with a 6.9-inch display, which is slightly larger than the iPhone 15 Pro Max's 6.7-inch display.
Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 16 lineup next September. Apart from slim bezels, iPhone 16 Pro series models are likely to have a new capacitive button. They are expected to be powered by the Apple A18 Pro chipset. On the other hand, the regular iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models will reportedly be powered by the A18 Bionic chip built on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC)'s 3 nanometer process.
