Consumers are curious throughout the year about what changes Apple is bringing to their new iPhone models. The US company launched the iPhone 15 series last September. The iPhone 16 is expected to hit the market by the same time this year as well. Apple is expected to maintain their four-model structure in the upcoming iPhone lineup. That is, the iPhone 16 series will include a total of four models with the base model plus Plus, Pro and Pro Max. And now a report claims that the battery design and capacity of different models of the upcoming iPhones will be different.
The iPhone 16 series will have a new battery design and capacity
According to the latest reports, the iPhone 16 series may ditch the L-shaped battery design introduced in the iPhone 13 series for some models. However, the exact reason for this shift is still unclear. However, the battery design may change to perhaps change the internal layout or increase more space for new features.
However, significant improvements in battery capacity may occur. The standard iPhone 16 phone may offer a 3,561 mAh battery, while the iPhone 16 Plus may come with a larger 4,006 mAh cell. On the other hand, the most premium iPhone 16 Pro Max could have a massive 4,676 mAh battery. This battery capacity is significantly higher than current generation iPhone models.
Note that the base iPhone 15 currently has a 3,279 mAh battery, while the Pro Max offers a 4,352 mAh capacity battery. If the information is correct, the iPhone 16 series will see a noticeable improvement in screen-on-time and overall user experience.
However, it is important to note that these are still speculation-based information and may be changed by the company before the official launch. Apple may later decide to keep their L-shaped design, change battery capacities, or come up with a different battery-related innovation all at once.
According to previous reports, the iPhone 16 series models are expected to be redesigned, ending the design trend that started with the iPhone 11 Pro. The camera orientation of the rear camera module of the new model can be changed from diagonal to vertical. The Pro Max variant is not expected to grow that much in size. The new models may bring back camera layouts similar to the iPhone X and iPhone 11. Besides, it will feature a new button layout, which may include capacitive touch buttons.
