From the beginning of 2023, India’s automobile giant Tata Motors (Tata Motors) has revived with new enthusiasm. They are determined to woo the customers by launching new models one after the other in different segments. Tata has already launched several new models. Preparations are being made to introduce more cars to the market in the future. These include – the new Curvv SUV Coupe and the new Sierra. Once again Tata has decided to upgrade their existing lineup of SUVs. This year Tata’s four popular SUVs are getting new avatars. Let’s know about them in detail.
The new Tata Nexon
Tata Motors will launch a more powerful version of its best-selling compact SUV Nexon in August this year. The updated version of the Nexon will come with the Curvv SUV Coupe. Design updates include a bipartite grille with diamond-shaped inserts, full LED bars, a new taillamp with connected light bars, new rear bumper, and dynamic turn signals.
Features include new dashboard, central console design, two-spoke flat button steering wheel with toggle switches and touch sensitive buttons, new seat upholstery, touch panel and toggle switches for HVAC controls. There is also a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Besides, there is a digital instrument console, drive mode selector, a 360 degree camera and wireless charger. On the power front, there is a 1.2 liter turbo petrol engine that produces 125 PS of power and 225 Nm of torque.
New Tata Harrier/Safari
Tata Motors is currently testing two of its massively updated Harrier and Safari cars. Both the models have seen minor design changes. It also has a new turbo petrol engine. Its design is inspired by the Harrier EV concept model showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. An LED lightbar is attached to the front grille and split headlamps. New alloy wheels and tail lamps are joined by an LED lightbar.
The new model gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Wireless Auto and Apple CarPlay, a new 7-inch digital instrument console and ADAS tech. Powering the new ACOV is a 1.5 liter direct injection turbo petrol engine. From which 170 bhp of power and 280 Nm of torque will be available. On the other hand, its 2.0 liter diesel turbo engine will produce 170 bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque.
Tata Punch EV
Tata Motors is currently working on an electric version of its Punch micro SUV. Speculations are rife that it could launch in October 2023. Production of the small SUV is likely to begin from June 2023. The model of the Punch EV is similar to its ICE version. Although it has rear disc brake as an additional feature.
The Tata Punch EV will be based on the new ALFA platform. It may appear with electronic parking brake and drive selector. which is present in the Nexon EV. Again there is a Ziptron powertrain. The vehicle will feature a liquid cooled battery and permanent magnet synchronous motor. Directly competing with the Citroen eC3 will be the Punch EV. Its range can be more than 300 km.
