Forget the bike, this time Bajaj is bringing a cheap scooter, know how much the price will be

There is no denying that the sales of electric scooters are increasing in the Indian market. Companies are launching one model after another to meet the demand. In this scenario, India’s leading automobile company, Bajaj Auto, currently has only one model in its portfolio. That is – Bajaj Chetak. This time Bajaj Auto executive officer Rakesh Sharma informed about the expansion of the Chetak lineup. He confirmed that their company is currently working on making new electric scooters. It will be launched in the next few months.

Bajaj brings affordable Chetak e-scooter

This step of Bajaj is to meet the needs of different categories of buyers. The government is planning to withdraw the subsidy from electric vehicles after March. In this scenario, Bajaj’s rival Ola, Ather is launching a comparable company model. Therefore, it is believed that Bajaj will also launch new e-scooter at an affordable price. The price of which will be less than 1 lakh rupees.

The new variant of the Chetak may offer a smaller battery pack and less powerful electric motor to keep the price down. Again, the list of features may also be cut. Monochrome LCD console may be provided. Every effort will be made to keep prices low.

The upcoming new variant of Chetak is expected to hit the market by April or May. The sub-1 lakh model has competitors in the market – TVS iQube, Ather 450S and Ola S1 X. Sharma said that if the subsidy is withdrawn, the sales of electric vehicles will be affected. However, instead of FEM-II, the Center is launching the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme from April 1, 2024 to July 31, 2024.
