Tata Altroz Racer was launched yesterday in the premium hatchback world of India. At the same time, Tata Motors has launched a pair of new top-line variants of the Altroz. These are – XZ LUX and XZ+S LUX. Again the top-spec variant XZ+ OS has been launched with a bunch of new features. The three models are priced at Tk 9 lakh, Tk 9.65 lakh and Tk 9.99 lakh respectively (ex-showroom). Please note, these prices are for the petrol manual version of the cars.
Tata Altroz: New Variant
The new Tata Altroz XZ LUX features a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree camera and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The more premium Tata Altroz XZ+S LUX gets four airbags as additional features. Finally the Tata Altroz XZ+ OS gets iRA connected car tech and an air purifier. Which is why it is Rs 34,000 more expensive than the XZ+S LUX variant.
Note that only the prices of the turbo petrol manual variant of the above cars have been announced. Tata said that these two new variants will appear in petrol manual, petrol DCA, diesel and CNG powertrain options. However, Tata Altroz XZ+ OS will be offered only in petrol engine.
Tata Altroz : Engine Specifications
Notable features on the newly launched Tata Altroz Racer include an electric sunroof, leatherette seats, a black-out roof, bonnet with twin stripes and black-out interior with orange highlights. The Altroz will be available in three engine options as before – 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol (87bhp), 1.5-litre turbo diesel (89bhp) and 1.2-litre turbo petrol (118bhp). The engine is available with 5-speed manual, 7-speed DCT and 6-speed manual transmissions.
Tata Altroz : Opponent
Tata Altroz rivals Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Toyota Glanza in the market. The new Tata Altroz Racer will compete with the likes of Hyundai i20 N Line, Maruti Suzuki Fronx Turbo and Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor Turbo – available in the market.
