Citroen MS Dhoni: The famous French car company announced MS Dhoni as its brand ambassador

Citroen India has announced the appointment of former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni as its brand ambassador. Captain Cool's undying love for two-wheelers is well known. His collection includes numerous iconic motorcycles. On the other hand, Citroen is interested in expanding its lineup in India. They are bringing a new coupe SUV in the country called Basalt.

Citroën India Brand Director Shishir Mishra said, “We are excited to welcome Mahendra Singh Dhoni to the Citroen family. His skill and ability to innovate made him one of the most successful captains in Indian history.”

Incidentally, Citroen currently sells four cars in India. These are C3, eC3, C3 Aircross and C5 Aircross. Recently, the company announced a price hike of Rs 4,000 to Rs 17,000 per model. Their parent company Stellantis said the price increase was due to increase in input costs and other costs of running the business.

Let us know that Citroen Basalt is going to enter the market as the successor of C3 and C3 Aircross. It will be sold in India and South America. If everything goes well, it will enter the market in the second half of this year. It has a 1.2 liter three cylinder turbocharged engine. Mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, the output is 108 bhp and 205 Nm. On the other hand, the 6-speed manual transmission option reduces the torque to 190 Nm.
