(Suzuki Motorcycle India) or SMIPL broke all their previous records in May. The Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler company managed to sell 1,11,512 motorcycles and scooters in the country last month. Which is the highest in their history. Even compared to the same period in 2023, their sales have increased by 22 percent.
Suzuki Motorcycle India set a new record in May
In India alone, Suzuki Motorcycle India's sales increased by 37 percent compared to May last year. Suzuki managed to sell 92,032 units of the two-wheeler in May this year. Whereas the company has exported 19,480 units of motorcycles and scooters outside India. However, exports fell by 4,796 units compared to May 2023.
In April this year, Suzuki managed to sell the most two-wheelers in India. The figure was 88,067 units. But in May that record was also broken. Kenichi Umeda, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd said, “The record breaking monthly sales of 1,11,512 is a significant milestone for the company. This has made Suzuki's progress in the country visible to all.”
Incidentally, this year Suzuki Motorcycle India has touched a significant milestone. The 80 lakhth Made-in-India two-wheeler rolled out of the company's factory. Popular models of the company include Suzuki Access 125, Burgman Street 125, Gixxer 150 and Gixxer 250. Recently Hayabusa 25th Anniversary Celebration Edition was launched in the country.
