Bajaj has come up with a bunch of surprises for customers this year. First they launched the Pulsar 400, then the world's first CNG bike, the Freedom 125. This time the target of the organization is Chetak. This Bajaj model is currently the third best selling electric scooter in the country. The company is planning to launch new variants along with adding new battery cells to increase its popularity. Now the news has come that the price of chetak will come down very soon.
The Premium and Urbane variants of the Bajaj Chetak e-scooter are going to get a significant price cut. At the same time the name is changing. The new Bajaj Chetak Premium and Urbane editions will be priced at Rs 1.15 lakh and Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. That means the electric scooter is getting cheaper by Rs 8,000. Besides, the premium model will be renamed 3201 and the urban variant will be sold as 3202.
Bajaj may announce the new prices soon. Already, Chetak's sales have been growing by leaps and bounds in the past few months. Chetak is currently the third best selling electric scooter in India after Ola S1 and TVS iQube. It goes without saying that such a price reduction before the festive season will increase the rush to the company's showrooms.
Incidentally, Bajaj has started working on a new variant called Chetak 2903. It will be positioned above Chetak 2901, the company's cheapest electric scooter. Besides, Bajaj is going to bring CNG bikes cheaper than Freedom. Company CEO Rajeev Bajaj has confirmed that their second CNG motorcycle will be launched soon.
