Hero MotoCorp (Hero MotoCorp) teamed up with Harley Davidson (Harley Davidson) that is going to launch the motorcycle in India next month, the news is already buzzing. The name of the new model is – Harley Davidson X440. Harley has announced the booking of the roadster bike. The motorcycle is being ordered for Rs 25,000 from their authorized dealership in the country.
Harley Davidson X440: Possible Price and Rivals
Harley Davidson X440It is likely to be priced between Rs 2.50 lakh and Rs 3.00 lakh (ex-showroom). The bike competes in the market with the likes of Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda H’ness CB350, and the upcoming Bajaj-Triumph joint venture.
Harley Davidson X440: Design and Features
In terms of design, the X440 largely follows the XR1200. It features round indicators, a single pod instrument cluster, flat handlebars, side slung exhaust, a circular headlamp with Harley Davidson branding and rear view mirror to enhance the retro styling. Other design features include copper colored exhaust pipes, side mounted grabrails and a conical fuel tank.
The headlight cowl, engine guard, rear shock absorber and exhaust muffler of the X440 are adorned in black. Again the dual tone finish of black and brushed metal will be noticed on the alloy wheels. Additional features include Bluetooth connectivity, full LED lighting and a full digital instrument cluster.
Harley Davidson X440: Engine and Gearbox
The bike will run on a 440 cc, single cylinder, oil sump engine. But still the power and torque figures are kept under wraps. Expected to produce more power than the rival Royal Enfield Classic 350. The Classic 350’s engine produces 20.2 bhp of power at 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The X440 can output 30 bhp and 35 Nm.
Harley Davidson X440: Suspension and Braking
The upcoming Harley Davidson X 440 will be based on a tubular chassis with a single down-tube design. The suspension setup includes upside down front forks and twin shock rear absorbers. Each has a preload adjuster. Disc brakes will be provided at the front and rear wheels along with dual channel ABS to handle the braking duties. The bike will run on 18 inch front and 17 inch rear alloy wheels with MRF tyres.
