Bajaj Pulsar 220F or the newly launched Hero Xtreme 200S 4V, which is the best bike under 1.5 lakh?

Hero MotoCorp has officially launched its Xtreme 200S 4V variant in the Indian full-faired motorcycle market. The price has been kept at Rs 1.42 lakh (ex-showroom). It is the sporty full-faired version of the standard model Xtreme 200S. Its competition in the market is Bajaj Pulsar 220F. So who is the best among the two bikes? Hero Xtreme 200S 4V vs Bajaj Pulsar 220F : Engine Specifications

The Xtreme 200S 4V is powered by a 199.6 cc, single cylinder, oil cooled, four valve engine. It produces 18.9 bhp of power at 8,000 rpm and 17.35 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Bajaj Pulsar 220F on the other hand is powered by a 220 cc, single cylinder, oil cooled, two-valve engine. It produces 20.11 bhp of power at 8,500 rpm and 18.55 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. It also has a 5-speed gearbox. In terms of power Pulsar 220F is ahead of Xtreme 200S 4V.

Both the Xtreme 200S and Pulsar 220F motorcycles have telescopic front fork and rear monoshock suspension setup. However, the Pulsar model features 5-step adjustable monoshock. Whereas the Xtreme gets a 7-step adjustable unit. Single disc brakes are provided at both ends along with single channel ABS to handle the braking duties.

Again, both models have 17-inch alloy wheels at the front and rear. Extreme weighs slightly less than Pulsar. Both bikes weigh 158 kg and 160 kg respectively. So the handling of both on the road can be said to be almost equal.

Xtreme 200S 4V features full digital instrument console, all LED illumination, smartphone connectivity and turn by turn navigation. In comparison the Pulsar 220F has a digital-analog instrument console and a halogen headlight. Kick and electric starter present in Xtreme 200S 4V. Whereas the Pulsar 220F is only available with electric starter.

Hero Xtreme 200S 4V is priced at Rs 1.41 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, Bajaj Pulsar 220F price is Rs 3,000 less than this. Which is Rs 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom). So we are putting Bajaj Pulsar 220F ahead of Hero Xtreme 200S 4V in terms of price and performance.
