WhatsApp bans more than 74 lakh accounts
The agency’s monthly report released under the IT Rules 2021 said that in April 2023, WhatsApp banned more than 7.4 million accounts in India, and that more than 2.4 million of these accounts were banned by the company before receiving complaints from users. This report mentions all the information of all banned accounts from 1st April to 30th April 2023. According to the report, the messaging service received 4377 complaints last April, of which the company took active action against 234 complaints.
According to the company, WhatsApp leads the way in preventing abuse compared to other messaging apps. Because over the years they have been investing in AI and other cutting-edge technologies, data researchers and experts to protect the security of their users.

It is already known that WhatsApp is bringing Global Security Center soon. By which the users themselves will know better about the way how to protect their account. According to the company, it will act as a ‘one stop shop’ for users. They can also protect themselves from spammers and strangers.
According to WhatsApp, they have created this page for users to inform about various security issues and create awareness about the inbuilt product features. Through this, users can learn more about the ‘behind the scenes’ technology besides protecting their accounts. Note that for the convenience of users, this security center will be available in ten other Indian languages including English.
