The agency’s monthly report released under the IT Rules 2021 said that in April 2023, WhatsApp banned more than 7.4 million accounts in India, and that more than 2.4 million of these accounts were banned by the company before receiving complaints from users. This report mentions all the information of all banned accounts from 1st April to 30th April 2023. According to the report, the messaging service received 4377 complaints last April, of which the company took active action against 234 complaints.
