Manesar, Haryana-based electric vehicle manufacturer Zen Mobility has launched its first purpose-built cargo electric three-wheeler in India. The three-wheeled electric vehicle suitable for goods transportation and home delivery is named Zen Micro Pod. It can be chosen in two variants – R5x and R10x. The manufacturer has informed that a maximum weight of 150 kg can be loaded on the car.

This electric vehicle is primarily targeted at the last-mile delivery segment. The company claims it is designed to deliver two and a half times the weight carrying capacity of a conventional two-wheeler. That’s why the car is positioned between two and three wheelers in terms of capacity.
Zen Micro Pod Features
The Zen Micro Pod is claimed to run 120 km (tested range) on a full charge. The battery will be fully charged in 1.50 hours to 2.30 hours. No need to charge the battery frequently due to low power consumption. It will save user cost. Only 4 units of electricity will be required to fully charge. There are shelves, refrigerated boxes, open tubs, and other options as storage according to the customer’s needs. Features include vehicle tracking, charge monitoring, geofencing and remote locking.
The Zen Micro Pod can be leased or rented on a month-to-month basis. It will cost up to 9,999 rupees. However, this amount of rent is not fixed. It will be charged based on the type of usage. According to company sources, the car has already received bookings of 10,000 units. The company is looking to build a factory with an annual production capacity of 1 lakh. Mass production of the three-wheeler is planned to start from next month.
