But from now on, you have to spend more to get this premium subscription. The Google-owned platform has raised the prices of YouTube Premium's personal, family and student plans.
The YouTube Premium service not only offers ad-free video streaming, but also features such as background streaming as well as picture-in-picture (PIP) mode. In addition, premium users get the option of high-definition video streaming.
58 percent increase in the price of YouTube Premium subscription
The new YouTube Premium subscription plans are listed on the company's website. It has been seen that the prices of both prepaid and recurring plans have been hiked. The price of YouTube Premium Personal plan has been increased from Rs 129 to Rs 149.
The family plan used to cost Rs 189 per month, but now costs Rs 299 per month. Five members of the same family can enjoy the premium service in this plan. The Student Premium plan available for students was earlier priced at Rs 79, but now it costs Rs 89 to subscribe to this plan.
Prices of other YouTube Premium plans
The prepaid personal plan price has been increased from Rs 139 to Rs 159. The price of the Quarter plan has been increased to Rs 459 instead of Rs 399. Again, where the annual plan was priced at Rs 1290, it has now been increased to Rs 1490.
