Yamaha introduced a new technology bike. The company unveiled the hybrid version of the FZ-S motorcycle at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 event held in Delhi yesterday. This bike has a special Integrated Starter Generator (ISG). Although hybrid cars are seen in the country at the moment, this is a hybrid bike for the first time. Although there are CNG and Flex Fuel (Ethanol running) powered motorcycles.
What is new in the Yamaha FZ-S Hybrid bike?
The hybrid technology on this bike will be powered by the Integrated Starter Generator or ISG, which is present in Yamaha and TVS scooters. It provides a small electric boost to achieve maximum output of the bike. Two more features have been added to the FZ-S : Start/Stop Tech and Silent Start.
The bike has other features like – silent start, start/stop technology and a Bluetooth-connected TFT display. The Yamaha FZ-S Hybrid is the first bike in India to use this system. It features an air-cooled, 149 cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 12.4 horsepower and 13.3 Nm of torque.
Other changes on the Yamaha FZ-S hybrid bike include the addition of a color TFT display, which offers call/notification alerts, music playback controls. Also, it brings features like new switchgear for controlling additional functions.
LED indicators on the Yamaha FZ-S Hybrid are present on the fake air vents on the tank extension. The features of the bike remain unchanged. Note that currently, the FZ-S V4 is priced at Rs 1,30,700 for the standard variant and Rs 1,31,200 for the DLX variant. The company may reveal the price of the hybrid variant soon.
