With the arrival of the new Bajaj Pulsar 250, these popular bikes are under pressure, fearing a drop in sales

The Bajaj Pulsar N250 is making its debut in India today on April 10 in a new avatar. The quarter-litre streetfighter bike is set to receive a number of significant updates. The list will include digital instrument console, traction control and other upgrades. Currently, this bike from Bajaj Auto is available in single variant and is priced at 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The bike has multiple rivals in the market and there is a risk of sales decline after the launch of the updated Pulsar 250.

Suzuki Gixxer 250

Now the only direct competitor to Bajaj Pulsar N250 is Suzuki Gixxer 250 in the market. Prices start at Rs 1.84 lakh (ex-showroom). That means Pulsar N250 is cheaper in comparison. The Gixxer 250 is powered by a 249 cc, single cylinder, oil cooled engine. It produces a maximum power of 26.1 bhp at 9,300 rpm and a torque of 22.2 Nm at 7,300 rpm. A six-speed gearbox takes care of the transmission.

TVS Ronin

Priced between Rs 1.49 lakh and 1.72 lakh ex-showroom, the TVS Ronin is powered by a 226.9 cc petrol engine. Its maximum output is 20.1 bhp and 20.1 Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch. Weight is 158 kg and fuel tank capacity is 14 litres.

KTM Duke 200

Apart from the Bajaj Pulsar N250, the segment also includes the KTM Duke 200. It features a 199.5 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine. It produces a maximum power of 24.6 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 19.3 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. Comes with 6-speed gearbox and slip and assist clutch. Price is Rs 1.97 lakh (ex-showroom).

Bajaj Dominar 250

Bajaj Dominar 250 is a very popular model in the 250 cc segment. The bike is powered by a 250 cc single cylinder liquid cooled DOHC, four valve engine that produces a maximum power of 26.6 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 23.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. It has a 6-speed gearbox and slip and assist clutch. The bike is priced at Rs 1.79 lakh (ex-showroom).

Bajaj Pulsar 220F

Bajaj Pulsar 220F has quite a good reputation in the market with engine capacity close to Bajaj Pulsar N250. The new version of this bike was launched in 2022. The semi-faired bike is cheaper than the Pulsar N250. It has a 220 cc, oil cooled engine. Which is capable of producing 20.11 bhp and 18.55 Nm of torque.
