WhatsApp is bringing a new feature similar to Apple Air Drop, with which two WhatsApp users will be able to transfer files without the help of the internet. This feature will be named Nearby Share.
Apple iPhones have the AirDrop feature, which allows large files to be sent between two Apple devices without the Internet. And files can be sent at a very fast speed through AirDrop. Although there are many other features like Bluetooth in the market, they are slow in speed. In such a situation, WhatsApp is also bringing a new feature similar to Apple Air Drop, with which two WhatsApp users will be able to transfer files without the help of the Internet. This feature will be named Nearby Share. Its testing has already started for Android users.
WhatsApp users can send files without internet
WhatsApp's Nearby Share feature will be end-to-end encrypted. It allows you to transfer files from one device to another without internet connection. However, due to limitations on iOS devices, a QR code must be scanned for file transfer. This feature was spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta update. Currently, this feature is available for internal testing.
What will be the benefit??
Currently internet is required to transfer files from WhatsApp. But the new file transfer feature will give a lot of relief to the users. Especially those who suffer from network coverage issues will benefit from this feature.
These features are coming to WhatsApp
WhatsApp is working on another feature, where WhatsApp users no longer need to create a profile. Simply put, you no longer need to share profile mobile number for chatting, voice calls and video calls.
