VI launches 5G network raising tensions between Jio and Airtel, deal worth Rs 30,000 crore

Notably, both Jio and Airtel have launched 5G networks in India last year and are offering services at the price of 4G plans, along with free unlimited 5G data.

30,000 crore deal with Nokia, Samsung of VI

According to reports, VI has signed contracts worth Rs 30,000 crore with Finnish firm Nokia, Swedish firm Ericsson and South Korean firm Samsung for 4G network upgrade and 5G network roll out. With this amount of money, Vodafone Idea will improve its network across the country. It will also launch 5G network in India.

Vodafone-Idea subscriber base may increase

Upgrading the 4G network across the country could increase Vodafone-Idea's user base. Because BSNL got millions of new subscribers after the news that it will launch 4G network soon. So if Vodafone Idea improves the network and can launch 5G network, many customers from Jio and Airtel may come back to Vodafone-Idea.

Note that recently Vodafone Idea has collected 24 thousand crore rupees by selling their shares. This money will be used to improve the network in each area. It will also be used for 5G roll out. According to reports, Ericsson will do about 40 percent and Nokia about 20 percent of Vi's network expansion.
