While buying gold, every person is afraid to think whether the gold ornament is real or fake. But now there is no need to fear about this matter. Because, today in this report we will discuss the solution of this problem. In fact, the Bureau of Indian Standards i.e. BIS has recently launched an app to verify the authenticity of gold. Through which you can easily understand whether the gold item is real or fake.
The app in question is called BIS Care App. And BSI, ISI and Hallmark certified gold and silver ornaments can be tracked through this app. In addition, the app also allows customers to verify the purity of Hallmark gold jewelery in real time. Note that this app can be used by both Android and iOS users.
Android and iPhone users can download BIS Care App from their respective App Store, Google Play and Apple App Store. This app has got 4 star rating on both app stores. According to FAQ on BIS website, hallmarking of gold jewelery is divided into six categories. Namely – 14 carat, 18 carat, 20 carat, 22 carat, 23 carat and 24 carat.
How to check purity of gold through BIS Care App?
BIS Care app allows you to check and know about the quality of ISI and Hallmark quality certified products. This requires users to register on this app. And by following the following procedures you can register in this app.
- First, verify the authenticity of the product by clicking on Verify License Details.
- Check the authenticity of items hallmarked with HUID numbers using Verify HUID. Note that HUID number is Hallmark Unique Identification Number.
Note that it is not mandatory to mention this 6 digit HUID code in the bill. So you have to write it down from the store while buying jewellery.
- Then click on “know your standards” option. And complete the registration process.
