TVS is going to launch a CNG two-wheeler in the wake of Bajaj. However, the tour will start on a scooter, not a motorcycle. The Indian company has been researching alternative energy technologies for the past few years. They have made a CNG powertrain. Now that will be included in the Jupiter scooter. TVS has also announced when the Jupiter CNG will be available in the market.
According to media sources, this TVS project has been codenamed U740, which is a 125cc CNG scooter. If all goes well, the TVS Jupiter CNG could be launched in the fourth quarter of 2024 ie (October-December) or the first half of 2025. It won't be too late.
According to people familiar with the matter, the company is aiming to sell 1,000 units of CNG-powered scooters every month. Along with bringing clean fuel options to customers, the company wants to reduce its carbon footprint as much as possible. To be noted, TVS has already launched an electric scooter, which is called iCube.
The TVS Jupiter is currently sold in two engine options – 110cc and 125cc. It is the second best selling scooter in India after the Activa. It goes without saying that the CNG version will increase in popularity. However, nothing is known about the mileage or specifications of the Jupiter CNG scooter.
