The demand for medium weight motorcycles i.e. 250 to 800 cc is gradually increasing in India. According to statistics from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), 7,33,779 middleweight motorcycles were sold in the country in the financial year 2020-21. Whereas in the financial year 2021-22 it increased to 7,54,153 units. Currently, Royal Enfield is leading the segment in India and the global market. However, recently Bajaj Auto, Triumph, BMW, Kawasaki, TVS and Suzuki Motorcycle India are preparing to launch such motorcycles in the market.
TVS brings big engine cruiser bikes
TVS Motor Company is all set to launch a new middleweight cruiser motorcycle. Which will challenge the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Super Meteor 650. While the company has not announced anything about the upcoming model, a design patent of the cruiser has been leaked online fueling speculation.
In that picture, the TVS bike is spotted with a neo-retro design. Circular headlamps, curved fuel tank, USD front fork and single exhaust pipe convey the cruiser style. Dual shock absorbers can be provided on the rear axle. The bike will appear with a huge engine. It can use 600-700 cc single or twin cylinder powertrain.
Incidentally, TVS Motor Company is planning to launch a new premium bike in the financial year 2023-24. The model will have several new generation equipment with world-class technology. TVS is also currently working on two new bikes. It will come with a 312.2 cc, single cylinder, reverse inclined, liquid-cooled engine based on the Apache RR 310.
