The Telecom Regulator Authority of India is about to bring big rules for users across the country, which they can breathe in a sigh of relief. Because the tri proposes that users will no longer need to change the set-top box when changing the DTH service provider like mobile SIM. That is, the set-top box does not have to change if one company leaves another company.
Set-top box does not have to change
For example, if those who use Tata Sky now want to move to Airtel, they have to change their entire set-top box. This has been identified as a problem tri. According to the new steps of the telecom regulatory agency, the obligation to change is being lifted. Besides, the minimum net price requirement has been proposed for the IPTV services provider.
In order to make the entire program easier, the Try has recently changed for broadcasting services under the telecommunications law of 2021. An outline of the recommendations related to the service authority has been revealed, which is about to replace the old telegraph law of the year.
According to the Tri, these recommendations are a major step to encourage growth in broadcasting and the beginning of simplifying business activities. The tri said the broadcast service provider and telecom operators should voluntarily divided the infrastructure. Another goal of this recommendation is to bring enough options for consumers to distribute television channels and reduce electronic waste by allowing a set-top box.
On the other hand, the tri also advised the companies willing to provide IPTV services to exclude a minimum net price of Tk 1 crore. Tri has also proposed to improve the technical skills of radio broadcast services.
