The habit of using electric cars is gradually forming among Indian consumers. Many people are willing to buy electric cars at a one-time high price to avoid fuel costs over the years. Seeing that, BYD India has decided to launch another battery car in this country. The upcoming model is named – BYD Seal. The company has already started accepting bookings for the sedan. It will debut in the Indian market on March 5.
Interestingly, the company said that customers who book BYD Seal by April 30 will stand a chance to win UEFA match tickets. Not only this, the cost of traveling by air will also be paid by the organization. Presumably, this car will come as the company’s flagship model. BYD currently sells a pair of electric vehicles in India – the e6 MPV and the Atto3 crossover SUV. The two models are priced at Tk 29.15 lakh and Tk 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
BYD Seal : Range Battery & Performance
The BYD Seal will be sold in both single and dual motor options. Depending on the version, the electric sedan will produce either 308 bhp of power and 360 Nm of torque or 522 bhp of power and 670 Nm of torque. Rear wheel drive will get a range of 570 km on a full charge. Whereas the dual motor setup will run 520 km on a full charge. This is the specification of the higher capacity 82.5 kWh battery pack model.
On the other hand, the variant with the 61.4 kWh battery pack will offer a range of 460 km on a full charge. Its electric motor will generate maximum power of 201 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. The small battery pack will charge at a speed of 110 kW on a DC fast charger. Where the big battery version will match the speed of 150 kW.
BYD Seal : Safety rating
BYD Seal is one of the most secure electric cars to hit the Indian market. Why do you hear me saying that? Because last year it got a 5-star crash test rating from Euro NCAP. Adult and child passengers scored 89 percent and 87 percent respectively. Safety features include dual front airbags, belt pre-tensioner, belt load limiter, side airbags and a center airbag. Other important features include autonomous emergency braking, lane assist system, etc.
