A report by Livemint claims that the iconic motorcycle Yamaha RX100 is coming to the Indian market in a new avatar. Although there were speculations about the re-launch of the bike in the market for a long time. It will get a more powerful engine than before. The name is also changing. The company is hopeful that the new avatar will create a craze among the younger generation.
The new RX100 is likely to get a powerful 225.9 cc engine that complies with BS6 Phase2. It will produce a maximum power of 20.1 bhp and 19.93 Nm of torque. Compared to the original model, the company will keep some surprises in the design of the new version. According to reports, the price of the bike may be Rs 1.25 lakh to 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Aiming to keep prices low, Yamaha aims to strike a balance of affordability with offering a premium experience.
Why is the new Yamaha RX100 offering 225.9 cc engine?
Yamaha RX100 was very popular for its light weight and sleek design. Besides, the sound and power, especially attracted the buyers. But at that time the engine was two stroke. Now the company has decided to give at least 200 cc powertrain to maintain that old glory with four stroke engine. Various reports had earlier claimed that Yamaha is currently working on a motorcycle with a high performance yet light weight and high power engine. This refers to the new version RX100.
