JSW MG Motor India has announced an increase in the price of Windsor EV, India's best selling passenger electric vehicle, by Rs 50,000. They have discontinued the introductory price and free charging facility on every variant of the car. When the Windsor EV was first launched, the company said the introductory price would be in place until 10,000 units were delivered or until December 31, 2024.
MG Windsor EV electric car price hiked
The price hike now starts at Rs 13.99 lakh for the base Excite variant of the car. Whereas the new prices of the mid-spec Exclusive trim and the top-spec Essence variant are Rs 14.99 lakh and Rs 15.99 lakh respectively. Note that all prices given here are ex-showroom.
Notably, early buyers will get free charging through the MG e-Hub app. New buyers, however, will not get that facility. The MG Windsor EV battery comes with a lifetime warranty (for the first owner) despite the reduced features. And subsequent owners will get eight years or 1,60,000 km warranty.
MG Windsor EV Battery, Power, Range
The MG Windsor car uses a 38 kWh battery pack. It will offer a maximum range of 332 km on a full charge. The DC fast charger will charge from 0-80 percent in 55 minutes. The car's battery and electric motor can generate a maximum of 135 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. The car competes with Tata Curve EV, Tata Nexon EV in the Indian market.
