It is clear from the picture that Royal Enfield is in the final stage of preparations for the launch of their new 450 cc motorbike. The name of Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 suggests that it will come with a 450 cc engine. However, the powertrain may need minor tweaks to make it fully street focused.
Interestingly, while being based on the platform of the Himalayan 450, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 will have a completely different fuel tank, seat and mudguard. It even gets a full-size separate suspension. The front will feature conventional telescopic forks with fork gaiters. To keep the price affordable, it is assumed that it will not offer a full color TFT screen like the Himalayan.
The Royal Enfield Gorilla 450's 452 cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder engine will produce a maximum power of 39.47 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 40 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox is available to support the engine. Estimates, the bike will be priced between Tk 2.4 lakh to Tk 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Royal Enfield Gorilla will compete with Triumph Speed 400 and Harley-Davidson X440 in the Indian market.
